Library Policies

The Library has certain policies in place to make the use of our services more convenient and more comfortable for the largest number of patrons. Please follow these simple rules:

Cell Phones: Cell phones and pagers must be off or on silent mode. If you must take a call, please go to the vestibule to talk. Talking on the phone while at the internet computers, or in the library book area disturbs other patrons.

Children: Children under 12 cannot check out materials unless a parent or guardian is present, and must be accompanied by an adult while in the library. Children 13 to 18 must have a signed permission slip to use computers. Small children must remain with an adult while in the library.

Smoking: Smoking in the library building is prohibited by state law. Smoking in the restrooms is expressly prohibited.

Food and Beverages: No food or beverages are allowed in the library, except in the meeting room during scheduled events.

Other policies are in effect for the safety and convenience of our patrons, and to govern usage of library facilities and resources. A Library Policy Manual is available at the circulation desk for anyone to examine.

How To Support Your Library

Join our Friends of the Library group!
Join the Friends of Spring Hill Library group to support the Library. Among other things, the Friends of Spring Hill Public Library sponsor our Book Sales, and the annual yard sale - proceeds go to Library special projects.

Volunteer! We always have projects that volunteers can assist on, from shelving books to helping plan the Summer Reading Program. Call us at 931-486-2932, or stop by to talk about the many opportunities.

Donate! We accept donated books, audio cassettes, CDs, and videos. The donations to the Library are tax deductible. If we can't use the items for our collection, we will offer them in our book sales, and use the proceeds to purchase new books.
