The Spring Hill Cemetery Association is hosting a cemetery tour on September 25 with the first tour leaving at 3 p.m., and the last tour leaving at 5 p.m. The cost is $10 for anyone 10 years and older; children under 10 are free. There will be reenactors from multiple time periods representing people buried in the cemetery. Parking is at Peek Pools and the Skate Park on Walnut Street. All proceeds go toward maintaining the cemetery.
Spring Hill has a natural pride in its past, which affords the energy and impetus to engage in the future. Therefore, knowing this, the Board of Mayor and Alderman established the Historic Commission with the following mission:
To promote and preserve the character of life in the city
through educational and cultural awareness
while providing a sense of commitment and continuity
between the past, present and future.
Historic Commission members are appointed by the mayor, serving three-year terms. The terms of elected officials on the commission run concurrent with their elected terms. Commission members must live within City limits.
